Makeup Tips: Help For Those Buying It

Unless you take care when buying makeup products, you could easily end up paying too much for them. Having money to throw away like this is not something that most of us will have so we will want to find ways to save a bit of money.

In this article we will be looking at some makeup tips that will hopefully mean that you will save money in the future.

Most people will have certain products in their makeup bag that they have never even used. A lot of us will buy makeup that looks great in the shop but which we don’t find suitable once we have taken it home. So what we are actually doing is wasting our money. The only way to avoid this is to make sure you do your homework on these products before buying them. Most makeup products will have samples that you can try. There is less chance of you buying something that you don’t really need if you think carefully before you buy.

It is probably a very good idea to check the internet first before buying any makeup products if you want to get the best deals. But it would be better to only buy makeup products that you have already tried before over the internet because the big problem that a lot of people have is that it is not possible to try out these products before you buy them. The benefit of buying online is that there is a lot more choice and you will likely make significant savings this way.

Don’t assume that you have to go for top brand makeup products all the time; there are often very similar products available at lower prices from less well known brand names. A lot of the time you are going to be paying extra for the privilege of a brand name because quite often the two products will have been made by the same manufacturer.

Be careful about buying multipacks where you get a number of makeup products bundled in together. Unless you will use all the items in the multipack, it is not going to be good value for money.

Makeup – Creating The Smokey Eye Look

One of the hottest makeup trends this year is the smokey eye look. Some women have tried to achieve this look, but have failed miserably. If you are not careful to do it the right way, then you may end up looking like something of a clown. The first thing that you need to do is make sure that you have the right colors, and that you know how to blend them correctly to give you a great look that will bring out your eyes.

First of all, ensure that you are using a makeup that is high quality. Some makeup products are not going to give you the proper look that you want. When you have a great type of makeup, it will make the colors go on much more smoothly. This means that you will need to look for a name you trust. Get shades of gray, black and charcoal, and maybe even a dark purple or blue to go along with it.

Once you have the right makeup, you need to know how to apply it correctly. The best way to do this is to start with a primer. This will help to ensure that the eye shadows go on smoothly. You will then want to start with the lightest color shadow. Apply this to the entire eyelid area. You will then need to go to the medium color, such as gray, and blend it into the eyelid up to the crease.

The next step is to use a brush that is designed specifically for creases and apply the darkest color to the crease of your eyelid. You need to make sure that you blend everything well. Once you do this, you will then want to use black eyeliner to line the top and bottom of your eyes. Some women like to smudge the liner to create a smokier look. Others may want it to be more defined, and therefore leave it alone.

Once you apply the liner, you will be almost finished! Simply finish it off with black mascara. You will want to apply this on the top and bottom lashes, and using two coats can really help to bring out your eyes. Keeping up to date with the latest makeup trends is very important to most people. Follow these steps to create the smokey eye look that you see on all the stars. Also, try a vibrant lipstick to bring the look together.

The Sweet Scent of Online Shopping

A little bit a late bloomer in the makeup and scent scene, I received my very first bottle of genuine designer brand perfume for my 18th birthday.

It’s not that I did not appreciate the magnetism of a fresh floral scent before this, but my young frivolous mind just could not justify paying virtually $100 of hard-earned cash to smell like the newest celebrity.

My friends knew me (and my tight wallet) well. Dishing out for the best product around, they settled on a new Yves Saint Laurent fragrance from a local shopping mall. I never saw the price tag, but I can only presume it pulverised the bank balance.

I totally adored it.

Sweet, virginal and refined floral fragrances like I simply had never smelt before gave me the womanly magnetism that I’d been missing out on all these many years. I wore each and every day. The fragrance became integral to my daily outfit, and I would get comments wherever I went.

As the adage goes, all good things come to a close. As my perfume supplies were decreasing, I thought that it was time to make the investment myself and go out and buy another bottle. This perfume, in fact , had become part of the new woman in me.

I visited five stores. Nothing. Each and every store had run straight out of stock, and said they simply weren’t certain to get it back in. My new fave fragrance had been abandoned! I was shell-shocked. I just couldn’t bear the very idea of trudging around through stores looking to find a new signature fragrance.

So I turned to the Net.

I had heard about web shopping from my mates and had been told about the extraordinary range and low costs that you could find. Not forgetting this was before Internet shopping had reached its current level of recognition, finding my now discontinued Ralph Lauren perfume online seemed a prospect too good to be true.

Feeling a bit down hearted, I jumped on my laptop PC and started skimming. Two sites popped up promising discount designer brand perfumes, so I clicked on one of the Australian sites and performed a quick search for my now-extinct signature smell.

I held my breath.

There it was! In all its former glory, my Calvin Klein scent popped up on the page, was in stock and was significantly discounted. Without hesitation I put a couple of bottles in my virtual checkout cart and headed directly to the checkout.

Within the space of a week I had both my confidence and signature scent back, and so my obsession with web shopping had commenced!

With such a massive selection of brands, fragrances and cosmetics at ridiculously low prices all ready to be sent right to your door, I should never retail shop for perfume again – and if you’re a bargain hunter like I am , neither will you!

Discover a huge range of discount designer brand scents, cosmetics and fashion on dLook.
